Project: Expansion and Renovation
Client: Indian Health Service / The Navajo Nation
Location: Shiprock, New Mexico
Completion Date: June 2003 (new building), May 2004 (renovation)
NNMC was built in 1995 as a full service acute care hospital, providing comprehensive healthcare services to the Navajo and the Utes. After its opening, many new services and programs were added that the current facility is unable to support.
The expansion and renovation project provides more outpatient care functions, including additional primary care exam rooms, specialty care clinics, a rehabilitation and physical therapy suite, and a community health department. The space program includes 45,000 SF of new building, 15,000 SF of expansion space, and 20,000 SF of renovated space.
